This woman beside me, as by my words "My Hero", is just that. First a little back story on us growing up. She was always the quiet, shy girl. Me and my other three sisters would pick on her as she was an easy target. Always self-conscious of her looks. In 2018 she got the dreaded call from her doctor that she had triple negative breast cancer. We did a lot of crying over the next several months figuring out her options and best course of action. She did chemo and radiation. I believe when she started losing her hair is when it hit her the hardest .
But through it all she never gave up. Kept a smile (most days) on her face so nobody could see the pain she was going through. She is the strongest woman I know. She went through some difficulties by far and I applaud her attitude, spirit, and outlook on life. She has been in remission three years now. So I hope you can all see how far she has come in her journey. She is not the shy, quiet girl I knew growing up. She now says what she wants and doesn't take crap from anyone.
She is and always will be in my eyes a Survivor and My Hero.
